MA International Relations: |
|
MA in International Relations aims
to give students the methodological tools necessary to study international relations
at advanced level. The MA is composed of three elements; research training, subject-specific
training and generic skills. The three core modules which make up the research training
component aim to equip students with essential research methods skills. The subject-specific
core module provides an understanding of both the philosophical and practical basis
of international political analysis, and examines new development in international
relations theory. The element of generic skills provides training in particular
software applications, and oral presentations and class teaching.

Admission Requirements: |
|
All graduates of age not more than
26 years and having at least 2nd class in BA/BSc or equivalent examination shall
be eligible for admission. The merit for admission shall be based on the marks obtained
by a candidate in BA/BSc or equivalent examination. Ten additional marks for each
of the following elective subjects, (maximum 20), shall be added to the merit of
the candidate: Political Science, History, Economics, Geography, Philosophy, and
Psychology. 50 additional marks shall be added to the merit of the candidates having
International Relations as an elective subject of 200 marks at graduation level.

MA Political Science: |
|
From the session 2008-9 the Department
has planned to initiate the Master program in Political Science. The subject of
Political Science is considered as one of the very basic Social Sciences. It has
its own significance in the socio-political and cultural development of the society.
It provides, on one hand, the conceptual and theoretical foundations for the understanding
of the subject, and on the other hand covers many practical aspects of internal
as well as external politics. It also generate the awareness among the students
regarding the functioning of various political institutions at national and international
level. Further it enables the students to critically analyze and evaluate the output
of the political system and the reasons of malfunctioning. |
